Royal Flush is a poker hand consisting of five consecutive cards of the same suit where the highest card is an Ace i.e. 10-J-Q-K-A. The odds of getting a Royal Flush are about 1 in 650,000.

Straight Flush is a poker hand consisting of five consecutive cards of the same suit. The odds of getting a straight are about 1 in 72,000.

Four of a Kind is a poker hand with four cards in it which are all the same e.g. four Jacks , four sevens. The odds of getting a Four of a Kind are about 1 in 4,000.

Full House is a poker hand in which three of the cards are the same and the remaining two cards are the same as each other. In the event of two players getting a full house which ever player has the highest ranking set of three cards wins for example three tens would beat three sixes. The odds of getting a full house are about 1 in 700.

Flush is a poker hand in which all five cards are of the same suit. If two players have a flush which ever hand has the highest ranking single card in it wins. The odds of getting a Flush are about 1 in 500.

Straight is a poker hand which has five cards in consecutive order but of differing suits. If two players have a straight the hand with the highest top card wins. The odds of getting a straight are about 1 in 250.

Three of a kind is a poker hand consisting of three cards of the same rank such as three Kings or three nines. If two players have a Three of a Kind the hand with the highest card rank of the three card set wins so the three Kings would beat the three nines. The odds of getting a Three of a kind are about 1 in 50.

Two Pairs is a poker hand which has two cards of one rank and a further two cards of another rank for example two Jacks and two sixes. The fifth card is of different rank to the other cards. If two players have a Two Pair hand the player with the highest rank in their best pair wins. If the top pairs are the same as each others it goes off the second pair and if they are also the same it goes off the remaining single card, the Kicker. The odds of getting Two Pairs is about 1 in 20.

One Pair is a poker hand in which two cards are of the same rank with the remaining three cards of different ranks. If two players have a One Pair hand it goes of the highest of the three remaining cards in their hand, if both players have the same card it goes off the next highest ranking card and if they are the same it would be decided by the remaining card they each hold. The odds of getting one pair is about 1 in 2.5

High Card is a poker hand unmatched cards its value is that of its highest single card. The odds of getting just a High Card hand are about 1 in 2.
